  • Protecting Public Health: Prevention and Beyond

  • Bridging Oral and Overall Health

Strategies

  • Advance consensus-based, data-driven public policy

  • Serve as trusted resource for oral health information

  • Convene partners to align efforts and drive collective impact

  • Lead with objective data to inform solutions and systems change

Guiding Principles

  • We seek common ground to drive shared solutions. While diverse perspectives are welcome, our decisions will be grounded in thoughtful, inclusive, and consensus-based processes.

  • We aim to be a credible, nonpartisan resource to decision-makers, providers, and communities. Our first commitment is to elevate insight and evidence, not ideology or individual agendas.

  • We focus our time and energy on identifying pragmatic, forward-looking opportunities to improve oral health outcomes, especially those that address long-standing challenges with renewed alignment.

  • We recognize that no one has all the answers. We commit to ongoing learning and collective sense-making to guide our work and adapt as needed.

History

The Texas Oral Health Coalition was created in 2004 to improve oral health across Texas through statewide collaboration. It became a nonprofit in 2008 to share oral health information and resources freely with the public. In 2025, TxOHC became part of Texas Health Institute, continuing its mission to advance oral health for all Texans.
