Artificial Intelligence and Oral Health: Evidence, Policy, and the Future of Care Delivery

Artificial intelligence is rapidly reshaping how oral health is measured, delivered, and integrated into the broader health system. This session takes a systems-level look at the evidence behind AI-assisted diagnostics, what these tools mean for access, quality of care, and how policy and regulation are evolving to keep pace. Attendees will leave with a clear-eyed view of both the opportunities and the limitations of AI as we work toward better oral health for all communities.

Objectives:

  1. Describe the oral health access landscape, including coverage gaps, spending patterns, and care disparities, and how AI-enabled tools may help address systems-level challenges.

  2. Evaluate the evidence supporting AI-assisted diagnostics and its implications for quality, consistency, and access in oral health care.

  3. Discuss the policy, regulatory, and ethical considerations shaping the responsible adoption of AI across the oral health system.

This webinar is produced by the Texas Oral Health Coalition (TxOHC). TxOHC is funded by CareQuest Institute for Oral Health, with Texas Health Institute serving as the administrative home for the TxOHC team and work.
